Yuanda Australia brings Collins Square T5 vision to life
Tower Five of Melbourne’s Collins Square development is taking shape as Yuanda Australia fits the building’s façade panels in record time.
Despite having to resolve some technical issues with the façade design, Yuanda Australia was able to have the first panels on site just five months after signing the supply contract.
General Manager Graham Romer said on Yuanda Australia had the capacity and expertise to take a project from design into installation in such a short period of time.
“We really had to pull out all stops on this to ensure the owners get their building on time,” Mr Romer said.
“But we’re very pleased that we were able to deliver, and now we’re seeing the project take shape.
“That’s the benefit of working with Australia’s largest supplier of facades and curtain walls. We have an ability to scale up production and meet very tight deadlines that others in the industry simply cannot match.”
Yuanda Australia’s Technical Manager Gareth Winstanley said the company had employed an innovative quality assurance process to reduce anisotropy in the smaller, triangular panes of glass that feature in the building’s design.
“There was a high degree of concern among the designers and building about potential anisotropy, but it’s pleasing to see that Yuanda Australia has been able to use our experience and understanding of the industry to prevent the problem.”
