Yuanda Australia showcased at New York-inspired Collins Arch
The New York-inspired Collins Arch will be a showcase of Yuanda Australia’s ability to provide international expertise and capability for local buildings, Yuanda Australia Director ZhiJun Liu said.
The landmark $600 million project at 447 Collins St Melbourne is due to completed in just over a year and will be Melbourne’s first truly mixed-use development.
Mr Liu said the project will span a 6,000m2 city block and include luxury apartments, a five-star hotel, WELL-rated offices, retail and 2,000m2 of public open space including a tiered amphitheatre.
“Yuanda Australia is proud to have been selected to provide the façade for the development’s two 39-level towers, linked by a spectacular eight-story Skybridge spanning 14 metres,” he said.
“Designed by SHoP Architects and Woods Bagot, Collins Arch will become an iconic building with Yuanda Australia providing the window wall system with horizontal stainless steel nosing from Level 2 to the top for external façade.
“The Yuanda Group of companies is one of the largest producers of facades and curtain walls globally and, with Collins Arch, Yuanda Australia will provide 3mm Stainless Steel Sheet with V cutting to reduce the folding radius, curtain wall mullion for window wall system to support the high wind load on the project.”
A total of 202 residential apartments will occupy parts of both towers, including the Skybridge, providing views across Melbourne.
The W Hotel will take up residence in the East Tower, with 294 guest rooms across 15 levels, while the West tower will contain the bulk of the 49,000sq PCA premium grade office accommodation.
Construction started in October 2016 and Collins Arch is expected to be complete in Q3 2019.
